.... to the web-site of South Harrow Methodist Church. Whether you are "shopping for a church", seeking to know more about Christianity, looking for guidance, needing support or offering help, we and this site are here for you.
The church is delighted to be able to tell everyone about its plans for reopening after the Coronavirus lockdown.
After 4 months we are able to open our doors again, but we are taking care to make sure that we do this safely. We opened on Sunday August 16th. There are, inevitably, some restrictions, for example we will not be able to have more than 25 people in the church because of the need to maintain social distancing, but we will have plenty of handwashing posts and masks will be worn. Sadly, no singing though.
We do recognise, however, that there are many who will be reluctant or unable to join with us in person at our services and so, in parallel with the gradual opening of churches, from the beginning of August, members will be able to join the Circuit team at 10.45am every Sunday morning for worship on Zoom and you are welcome to join them. Our new Minister, the Revd Julie King, joined us at the beginning of September.
As we could not decorate the cross outside our church on Easter morning, members of the Zoom congregation decorated their own.
We are part of the world-wide Methodist church, the Harrow and Hillingdon circuit, and affiliated to Churches Together in South Harrow.
As such, we are charged to serve Christ in South Harrow, to worship Him, and to represent Him to the best of our abilities. For we believe that it is by serving others that we serve Him.
You will find a warm welcome at our church; we are a friendly, multi-cultural, fun-loving people, reflecting the area in which we exist. But we share in a common aim to worship God and to serve His people in South Harrow.
